Comprehensive eye examinations are incredibly important. When we look into your eyes, not only can tell you how healthy your eyes are
We also offer specialised eye examinations for children to keep your children’s eye health in top condition and ensure they are seeing as clearly as possible. One in five children under twelve in Australia suffer from common eye conditions such as short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism, which can lead to learning difficulties.
As a primary health provider with state-of-the- art technology as well as years of experience, we are highly skilled in detecting and treating various eye diseases. Our principal optometrist Dr Jeff Lee is therapeutically endorsed, which means he is fully qualified to prescribe ophthalmic medicines. Accordingly, we can help treat problems such as allergic conjunctivitis, bacterial conjunctivitis, contact lens related inflammation or infections, inflammatory eye conditions and more. We also welcome any eye emergencies.
Please notify our staff when you make an appointment.
Glaucoma is a blinding condition where the optic nerve gradually gets damaged, and it effects approximately 3% of Australians. Glaucoma is thought to be caused by factors such as increased eye pressure, weakness in the optic nerve structures, poor blood supply to the nerve endings, and possibly the poor health of the nerves fibres themselves.
Unfortunately, glaucoma is difficult to diagnose and often goes undetected, which is why regular screening is extremely important. Since it is so difficult to screen for glaucoma using traditional methods, we use the state-of-the-art Nidek RS300 Retinal Scan Duo OCT. This advanced technology helps detect glaucoma at its earliest onset, before any functional vision loss takes place. If you’re thought to be at risk of developing glaucoma, we will also conduct a visual field test to check for any loss in your functional vision. To do this, we use the highly effective Zeiss Humphrey Visual Field Analyser, which produces a report to illustrate any changes between two or more visits. This is especially useful in detecting any changes that can help with a diagnosis, as well as monitoring any disease progression.
Diabetic eye exams are crucial for diabetic patients. It can reveal a lot about the status of your general health and whether your blood sugar levels are under control. During a diabetic eye exam, our optometrist will conduct a Comprehensive Dilated Eye Exam along with Digital Retinal Photography and OCT. We recommended taking a diabetic eye exam once every 12 months.
